BFGoodrich is a household name throughout North America. It is one of the longest-running tire manufacturers in the world, having been in business for over a century. Over the years, BFGoodrich has made a name for itself as the first American tire manufacturer to make radial tires and as a brand that knows how to create tires for an unparalleled driving experience. Though they’re headquartered in Akron, Ohio, BFGoodrich was bought by Michelin in 1990 and the two have been linked ever since. As one of the most famous tire brands in the world, you can bet that BFGoodrich offers a wide range of tire products. One of our favourite ranges is the BFGoodrich Advantage, a line of high-quality all-season tires known for their long tread life, year-round traction, and superior steering responsiveness. Below, we break down a few of the top BFGoodrich Advantage tires on the market today.

BFGoodrich Advantage T/A

The BFGoodrich Advantage T/A is the American brand’s all-season passenger car radial tire. It was designed to offer a long tread life and excellent all-season handling to owners of coupes and sedans. The Advantage T/A’s unique tread features a symmetric, non-directional pattern, a silica-enhanced tread, rigid shoulder blocks, and a continuous centre rib. The result? A tire with superior cornering, stability, and steering response. The BFGoodrich Advantage T/A also utilizes the brand’s patented g-Grip interlocking sipe technology for extra bite on wet roads. To excavate water and slush from the contact patch and reduce the risk of hydroplaning, this all-season tire has wide circumferential grooves. Finally, within the tire you’ll find twin steel belts wrapped with BFGoodrich’s Equal Tension Containment System, which acts as a reinforcement to make the tire stronger and more durable. There is also a g-Wedge sidewall stabilizer inside to increase sidewall strength. Overall, the BFGoodrich Advantage T/A boasts excellent tread wear, wet and dry traction, and a smooth, comfortable ride with minimal road noise.

BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport

The BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport is another all-season passenger car tire that was originally released to replace the Advantage T/A. Like its predecessor, it is also a tire with year-round capabilities, however, this newer model incorporates a wide range of new tire technology that makes it even better. Built with coupes, sedans, and minivans in mind, this BFGoodrich tire is an expert in all-around performance. The tire has a silica tread compound and a symmetric tread pattern for improved traction and handling. It also has a continuous centre rib and an optimized footprint to provide better cornering capabilities, even at high speeds. Other tire technologies utilized are the g-Wedge sidewall inserts for greater stability and full-depth 3D active siping for increased grip. Then there are the Aqua-Flume grooves on the tread, which significantly reduce the risk of hydroplaning. In fact, BFGoodrich claims that the Advantage T/A Sport has 12 percent better grip than the original Advantage T/A. This BFGoodrich tire also offers a quieter, more comfortable ride. Ultimately, when it comes to traction, grip, tread life, ride comfort, and handling, it doesn’t get better than the BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport.

BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport LT

Finally, BFGoodrich has one tire model left in its Advantage line and that’s the Advantage T/A Sport LT. Unlike the others, the Advantage T/A Sport LT is a light truck/SUV/CUV tire. However, it is still an all-season tire, as well as an all-terrain tire. This light truck tire has a silica tread compound, symmetric tread pattern, and interlocking 3D siping technology which together, offers outstanding grip and traction, whether you’re driving on a snow-covered surface or dry pavement. The BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport LT is also 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake-certified, which means it can handle severe snow conditions with ease. Like the Advantage T/A Sport, the Advantage T/A Sport LT also uses Aqua-Flume technology to better disperse water from the contact patch and prevent hydroplaning. Owing to these additional grooves, coupled with the continuous centre rib, the BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport LT is more responsive and offers a smoother ride than many other all-season light truck tires. Rounding out this tire is the g-Wedge sidewall stabilizer and nylon-reinforced steel belts. At the end of the day, the BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport LT is an excellent year-round light truck tire, delivering on traction, braking, handling, cornering, and hydroplaning resistance.
